Three New Retail Concepts for Starbucks
Starbucks is introducing three new retail concepts as part of its continuous
expansion plans to grow the brand. The company expects to open
1,550 new stores in fiscal year 2014 and 1,600 in fiscal year 2015.
Here’s the short and sweet on it:
- A 15,000-square-foot one-of-a-kind interactive “Roastery and Tasting Room” in Seattle where consumers will experience a “union of coffee theater and manufacturing” in a “retail environment devoted to beverage innovation.”
- Drive-through hyperlocal, small-footprint stores – a sort-of “Starbucks Express” model.
- A roll-out on college campuses of coffee trucks beginning with three universities: Arizona State University,James Madison University in Virginia, and Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina.
