Claire’s, the popular teen accessories retailer, has filed for bankruptcy protection for the second time, raising significant concerns about which landlords and shopping centers will be most affected by this development.
18 “initial” locations have been identified in the initial wave of closing across numerous states and includes booth Claire’s and Icing locations.
Claire’s has retained Hilco Merchant Resources to liquidate its U.S. stores. While the company can halt the process for a potential buyer, it expects the closing sales to proceed quickly.

- Provo Town Center, Provo Utah
- Newpark Mall, Newark California
- Shops at Highland Village, Highland Village Texas

- Union Town Mall, Union Town Pennsylvania
- Ford City Mall, Chicago Illinois
- Northtown Mall, Blaine Minnesota
- Bay City Town Center, Bay City Michigan
- Eastdale Mall, Montgomery Alabama
- Junction Commons, Park City Utah
- Livingston Mall, Livingston New Jersey
Icing locations:
- Galleria at Tyler, Riverside California (Icing)
- Mall of Abilene, Abilene Texas (ICG) Icing)
- 8456 Greece Ridge, Rochester New York (ICG) Icing)
